A formal ceremony to commemorate ‘Pakistan day’ was held at Pakistan’s Embassy in Warsaw, Poland on Friday. The ceremony was largely attended by Pakistani community living in Warsaw and other cities of Poland.
The Ambassador of Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Poland Mr Shafqat Ali Khan welcomed Pakistani community at Embassy premises. The ceremony included flag hoisting, recitation of messages from President and Prime Minister of Pakistan, was followed by a graceful reception with the traditional Pakistani cuisine.

In an exclusive interview with Overseas Tribune, Pakistan Ambassador to Poland said, it is a special day for every Pakistani living in homeland or abroad and the people are full of passion on day for prosperity their motherland. He said, Pakistanis based in Europe including Poland are representing their homeland and can important role in making bridge between Pakistan and Europe.
Pakistan Day (Yaum-e-Pakistan) is a national holiday in Pakistan commemorating the Lahore’s Resolution passed on 23 March 1940 and the implementation of first constitution of Pakistan during the transition of the Dominion of Pakistan to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan on 23 March 1956, proclaiming the country the world’s first Islamic republic. Due to public holiday on 23rd March in Pakistan, Government offices, banks, post offices, educational institutions and businesses are closed, except for some multinational organizations.
